Penn State Shenango 78, Penn State Mont Alto 53

MONT ALTO, Pa.- Kaleigh Hartman led all scorers with 23 points as Mont Alto dropped a tough PSUAC contest to Penn State Shenango on Sunday evening by a final of 78-53. Dariana Perez scored 19 points and tallied seven steals in the losing effort for Mont Alto. Cassie Dancak was the leading scorer for Shenango, she scored 14 points and grabbed six boards in 17 minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Shenango jumped out to an early 10-4 lead in the first seven minutes of play. Amber Sefton had back-to-back three pointers in the early going.

-Dariana Perez got to the line for Mont Alto late in the first to trim the early deficit to 12-11 after one quarter of play.

-With Mont Alto trailing 18-17, Aneziah Fryer and Mya McNevin each hit a three pointer to put Shenango ahead by seven (24-17).

-Cassie Dancak extended the halftime lead to 13 for the visitors, hitting a triple before the buzzer. Shenango led 32-19 at the break.

-Shortly following halftime, Kaleigh Hartman's three pointer cut the Mont Alto deficit to 37-28 with 8:18 left in the third quarter.

-As Hartman made a layup with 3:50 left in the third, Mont Alto trailed 48-40. Shenango closed the quarter with a 8-0 run.

-Hartman finished the final quarter with a team-high 9 points as Shenango outscored Mont Alto 22-13 to win 78-53.
