SHARON, Pa. – The 3rd seed Penn State Mont Alto women's basketball team traveled to 2nd seed Penn State Shenango in PSUAC playoff action on Monday night. Despite large efforts from Kaleigh Hartman and Dariana Perez, Mont Alto fell just short of victory and fell in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

-Mont Alto's Dariana Perez and Shenango's Hailee Aguinaga exchanged layups to open the scoring 

-Kaleigh Hartman was fouled on a 3-pointer and sank all free throws to bring Mont Alto within three 

-With 6:58 left in the first half, a layup from Shenango's Alli Lewis gave her team a 27-14 advantage 

-A pair of free throws from Dariana Perez kept Mont Alto in it with 5:13 left in the third quarter 

-With 5:07 left in the contest, Shanez Morales laid the ball in to bring Mont Alto back within 10 as the score was 68-58 

-Shenango's Shar'Da Williamson ended the game with a layup to make the final score 78-64

Shar'Da Williamson – 26 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals 

Hailee Aguinaga – 17 points, 9 rebounds 

Gabrielle King – 10 points 

Penn State Mont Alto Leaders: 

Kaleigh Hartman – 33 points, 16 rebounds 

Dariana Perez – 22 points, 9 assists
