Women's hoops rebounds versus GA 68-57 to split weekend

Penn State Schuylkill 67, Penn State Mont Alto 47 

Schuylkill, Pa- Mont Alto women's basketball went up against Schuylkill for an away game and a conference matchup. A back-and-forth game in the beginning turned out to be a loss for Mont Alto in the end with the final score Schuylkill 67, Mont Alto 47.

 

How it Happened

-Schuylkill jumped out to an early 7-3 lead with a three pointer from Allison Crockett.

-After a back-and-forth game, Schuylkill took a commanding lead of 28-15, Mont Alto would respond with a 14-point streak to make the score 29-28 in favor of Mont Alto with only a minute left in the second quarter.  

-Schuylkill's Ava Novak would then score nine unanswered points, making their lead 50-31 with two and half minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  

-Schuylkill would then stand strong in the 4th quarter, extending their lead to as much as 28 points and would go on to earn the victory.

Shanez Morales- 9 points, 7 rebounds

Makayla Barry- Robinson- 7 points, 8 rebounds

 

 

Penn State Schuylkill Leaders:

Ava Novak- 18 points, 10 rebounds

Tajae Stevenson- 16 points, 3 rebounds

Nadia King- 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals

 

 

Penn State Mont Alto 67, Penn State Greater Allegheny 58

Mont Alto, Pa- Mont Alto women's basketball went up against Penn State Greater Allegheny for a home game and a USCAA matchup. A close game in the end went Mont Alto's way as they would walk away with the 67-58 victory over Greater Allegheny.

 

How it Happened

-In the first quarter, Mont Alto was leading most of the quarter by as much as 15 points going into the second quarter.  

-Mont Alto would not stop in the second quarter either, baskets by Autumn Fischer and Dariana Perez helped Mont Alto keep their lead right where it was.  

-Greater Allegheny would put some pressure on in the third quarter with baskets from Esther Sankoh and Tomisha Pierce.  

-Mont Alto would stand strong for the rest of the game with help from a 19-point performance from Autumn Fischer.

Dariana Perez- 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists

Victoria Kalp- Robinson- 10 points, 5 steals

 

 

Penn State Greater Allegheny Leaders:

Peyton Smith- 20 points, 13 rebounds

Tomisha Pierce- 20 points, 5 steals

Nevaeh Maynes- 12 points, 5 rebounds
