Women's First Home Game A Tough One

Women's First Home Game A Tough One

If you ask Coach Jamie Smith she will tell you that this game was no thing of beauty for their first home game of the 2016 season.  Althoug her team got out to a quick 1-0 start, Central Penn wouldn't go away.  Plagued with injuries through out the entire game Central Penn limped up and down the field, but wouldn't stop fighting.

Mont Alto kept pouring on the offense with shot after shot, but with 3 cross bars and a post hit in the first half alone Mont Alto's frustrations kept building.   Central Penn goalie, Kimberly Leitzel had 9 saves, and gave Mont Alto nothing to work with.  Taylor Zeiders and Brooke Kiner scored one goal each to help the cause, but Central Penn's Natalie Richards scored two of her own goals to keep her team alive.

With just over 12 minutes to go in the game play was stopped due to lightning, and the game was called in a tie, 2-2.

Mont Alto will play host to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday at 1:00pm.
