Women's Soccer falls to #3 ranked Christendom 3-0

The Mont Alto Women's Soccer team took to the field for the first time since August 25 on Saturday, their first home game of the regular season. Christendom used a big offensive first half to pull away from Penn State Mont Alto to win a non-conference tilt by a final of 3-0. Christendom's leading scorer Catherine Thomas recorded the game's first goal on an unassisted tally to go up 1-0. 

 

Mont Alto would keep the offensive pressure on following the game's opening goal with four opportunities within the next ten minutes of action. Three of the shots were on goal and stopped by Christendom's goalkeeper Georgia Francis. Christendom's Theresa Luckey scored the game's second goal following a shot saved two minutes prior. Her goal was assisted by Colette O'Reilly as Christendom led 3-0 with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. 

 

The Crusaders Gracie Russo added a key insurance goal in the 40th minute as Christendom took a 3-0 lead into the break.

 

Mont Alto would outshoot the opposition during the second half with 13 shots to six, but only two were on target. Christendom's Georgia Francis recorded six saves in the first half and Anna Hsu recorded two in the second half to preserve the shutout. Mont Alto's Kiaya Mouer stopped seven of her ten shots on goal.
