Women's soccer advances to third straight PSUAC title game with 11-0 victory over Hazleton

Mont Alto women's soccer advances to their third straight conference championship contest on Tuesday's evening at 6:30 p.m. at Panzer Stadium against Penn State Brandywine following a 11-0 win over Penn State Hazleton on Saturday afternoon.

 

Eight different players contributed with goals in the winning effort on Saturday, headlined by Madison Eberly (25', 44'), Nicole Jones (23', 78') and Grace Lochner (49', 56') who each had two goals. Kiaya Mouer (71'), Sophie Bowersox (87'), Alexis Mariano (7'), Katlin Provard (39') and Avery Diehl (15') also scored in the game. 

 

Mont Alto recorded six first half goals and five second half goals on 31 shots on goal, holding Hazleton without a shot on goal.

 

For Mont Alto, this will be the second consecutive season facing off against Brandywine for the PSUAC Championship. The 2022 championship was a 5-0 Mont Alto victory. Tuesday's matchup will be the third during the 2023 season between the two sides. Mont Alto won the previous two, 2-0 on the road and 1-0 at home on October 28.
