Alexis Smith and Allison Meyers Named to the 2017 USCAA National All-Academic Team

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On Thursday, November 9 the United States Colligate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its All-American, National All-Academic, and individual End of the Year award winners at a ceremony held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center following the first day of competition in the USCAA Fall Championship Week. The banquet brought together 1,250 student-athletes and coaches with award winners announced in the sports of men's soccer, women's soccer, men's cross country, women's cross country, and women's volleyball.

Representing the Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team on the USCAA National All-Academic team was sophomore Allison Meyers (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) and junior Alexis Smith (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle). Both were honored with the accolade after having 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts with each of their cumulative grade point averages being 3.50 or greater. Smith a Human Development and Family Studies and Meyers who is studying to be a Physical Therapist Assistant were both key members of the Mont Alto squad that went 15-6 before falling in the PSUAC Semifinals.
