Volleyball sweeps DuBois, wins ninth straight conference game

Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State DuBois 0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-7)

 

Penn State Mont Alto volleyball improved to 9-0 in the conference and remains a game and a half ahead of Penn State Greater Allegheny for first place in the west division with two games left to play. The sweep of Penn State DuBois is the eight consecutive victory for Coach Randy Hood's team.

 

Kylee Gooding paced the team in kills with 12 on 33 total attempts. Caroline Blickley and Candice Baum each had six kills to help lead the Mont Alto attack. Kylie Denlinger provided 34 of Penn State Mont Alto's 35 assists on the afternoon, Brooke Denlinger had the other assist. Brooke Denlinger led the team in digs with nine while Kylee Gooding and Gabby Baughman each provided three.

 

Kylee Gooding and Leslie Huckle each had a solo block on the defensive end. Candice Baum had three assisted blocks to lead Penn State Mont Alto.

 

Kierra Keck paved the way for the Penn State DuBois offense with ten kills on 26 attack attempts. Montana Hetrick provided eight. Setter Megan Hyde had 17 of DuBois 23 assists during the match. Hetrick also had an outstanding defensive effort with a team-leading 22 digs. Skylar Ceprish and Kierra Keck each had 12. Eliza Neal recored the only solo block for Penn State DuBois on Sunday.
