Volleyball remains perfect in conference with senior night victory

Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State New Kensington 0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-16)

 

The Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team moved to a perfect 11-0 in the conference with a win on senior night over Penn State New Kensington. The contest marked the final home regular season contest for three graduates (Aspyn Keetch, Caroline Blickley and Candice Baum) as well as one senior athlete (Kylee Gooding). The game was also the team's annual Pink Out game.

 

Gooding paced the offensive efforts for Penn State Mont Alto with a team-high 17 kills on 34 attack attempts. Leslie Huckle (7) and Gracie Vaughn (6) rounded out the top three in kills for Mont Alto. Elliott Ferrent was the New Kensington leader in kills with nine on the evening. Emily Lewandowski was right behind her with eight.

 

Kylie Denlinger continued her strong play on the season with 24 of Penn State Mont Alto's 35 assists. Aspyn Keetch chipped in nine assists. Kayla Unger was the New Kensington leader in assists with 11. 

 

Brooke Denlinger (20) and Kylee Gooding (12) were the defensive leaders in digs for Mont Alto while Heidi Moser and Kayla Unger each had double-digit digs for New Kensington with ten a piece.

 

Earlier in the week, Penn State Mont Alto clinched the #1 seed in the PSUAC West where they will host Penn State Beaver next Wednesday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
