Mont Alto sweeps York, advances to second straight National Title game

USCAA National Championships- Semifinal: Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State York 0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-19)

 

Penn State Mont Alto volleyball faced off against Penn State York for the second time since October 31 on Friday afternoon, this time in the USCAA National Semifinals. Penn State Mont Alto picked up right where they left off on Thursday, seizing early momentum and cruising to a three set win. 

 

Gracie Vaughn led the offensive charge for Mont Alto with a team-leading 17 kills on 27 attempts for a .519 hitting percentage. Leslie Huckle was seocnd on the team in kills with 12 on 42 attack attempts. Kylie Denlinger tallied 32 of the team's 34 assists and also recorded double-digit digs with 11. 

 

At the net, Gracie Vaughn, Abigail Wagner and Kylie Denlinger led the charge. Vaughn had 1 solo and 6 assisted blocks, Wagner had 1 solo and 4 assisted and Denlinger had five assisted blocks.

 

Jessica Dunbar was the leading offensive player for Penn State York with nine kills on 25 attack attempts. Jayda Simmons was the leader in digs with 19.
