Shippensburg, Pa. - The Penn State Mont Alto cross country team put forth a strong start to its 2017 season Friday night, running well at the 2017 Galen Piper Alumni Open/Cross Country 4K Challenge held under the lights of the Shippensburg University recreation fields on campus.
Sophomore Levi Canon began his season with a strong effort finishing the men's 6k with a time of 22:58.
Freshman Mackenzie Rogers had an outstanding debut for the Lions racing to the finish line of the women's 4k race in 19:19.
Penn State Mont Alto returns to action in less than a week when it competes in the Shannon Henretty Invitational at Stevenson University on Friday, Sept. 7.
