FAYETTVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's and women's cross country teams competed in the PSUAC Invitational and Madison Ford (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) highlighted the Nittany Lion finishers with a top-3 finish in the women's 6K on Saturday afternoon.
Ford competed against 20 other runners from PSU Schuylkill, Greater Allegheny, DuBois, Fayette, Scranton and Brandywine. She produced a personal-best time crossing the finish line in 27:35. Elizabeth Parsons (Shade Gap, Pa. / Commonwealth Charter Academy) also competed for PSUMA and she ran a season-best time of 31:54.
In the men's 8K race there were 43 runners racing in a light drizzle at Norlo Park. Freshman Joel Minicozzi (Hedgesville, W.Va. / Hedgesville) was the top finisher for PSUMA crossing the finish line 24th in 30:32. Right behind him was Simon Egolf (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) who finished 25th with a time of 32:20. Andrew Walker (Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) and Jacob Geesaman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) ran PR's with times of 34:25 and 35:40.
