UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto cross country team claimed a pair of weekly awards from the Pennsylvania State University Conference (PSUAC) on Tuesday as Macy Carper (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) was named women's runner of the week while Gavin Miller (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) claimed the men's runner of the week honors.

Macy Carper (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) has had a great start to her collegiate running career, winning two-straight races including pacing the field at Saturday's Penn State Mont Alto Invitational. The freshman had a good start and distanced herself from the competitors and finished first with a time of 21:57.

Fellow freshman Gavin Miller (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) has quickly established himself as the top runner for the Mont Alto men's cross country team. This past weekend he put together another outstanding performance finishing second in the men's 5K race with a time of 19:23.

The Mont Alto cross country team will return to competition on Saturday, April 17 at the Penn State Brandywine Invitational.
