Macy Carper Wins Yet Another Meet Leading the Pack at the Penn State Cross Country Invitational

DUNMORE, Pa. – Macy Carper (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) distanced herself from the pack while managing a very tough 5K course on the Penn State Scranton campus to win another meet on Saturday afternoon by a little under four minutes.

Carper won the women's race over seven other competitors finishing the race in 23:26. Emily Boozel (Huntingdon, Pa. / Mount Union Area) claimed medalist honors with a fifth place finish crossing the finish line at 28:35.

The Mont Alto men also raced on the 5K course with Gavin Miller (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) finishing third at 21:54. Ben Johnson from Penn State Brandywine won closely contested race crossing the line at 21:44. Joel Minicozzi (Hedgesville, W.Va. / Hedgesville) finished the race eighth (24:02) and Jacob Geesaman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) was right behind him finishing the race ninth with a recorded time of 25:52.

Saturday's meet concluded the 2020-21 for Penn State Mont Alto as they will look forward to once again competing in the fall.
