Baseball completes four game sweep of Hazleton

Conference Matchup Game One: Penn State Mont Alto 8, Penn State Hazleton 1

 

Penn State Mont Alto hosted Penn State Hazleton for a double header on Saturday. A great offensive performance from Mont Alto, allowed them to get the 8-1 win over Hazleton.

In the bottom of the first, a double from Caiden Smith would allow one run to score. Then an error by Hazleton's shortstop would allow another run to score. A single from Gavin Kissel would score two more runs making the score 4-0 in favor of Mont Alto.

In the bottom of the second, a solo homerun from Braden Zeger would extend Mont Alto's lead. In the bottom of the fourth, a solo homerun from Caiden Smith and a two-run homerun from Cameron Bailey would make Mont Alto's lead 8-0.

In the top of the fifth, a single from Zach Brister would allow one run to score but it would not be enough as Mont Alto would get the 8-1 win over Hazleton.

Penn State Mont Alto hosted Penn State Hazleton for a double header Saturday. A close game ends up going Mont Alto's way as they get the conference sweep over Hazleton.

 

In the top of the first inning, a wild pitch would allow Hazleton to score one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, a single from Garrett Worth would allow one run to score for Mont Alto. Later in the inning, a double off the wall from Josiah Bowie would score one more run.

In the bottom of the third inning, a solo home run from James Sibert would extend Mont Alto's lead to 3-1 over Hazleton.

A double from Quinn Roche in the top of the fourth would allow one more run to score for Hazleton, it wouldn't be enough though as Mont Alto wins 3-2.
