Going Out In Style....

Mont Alto has clinched the number one seed in the PSUAC as they head into the conference tournament.  This is the first time since Head Coach Jack Schenzel took the helm 5 years ago that the team has won the regular season championship.  Although they have had much success, and even made it to the National Championship Game last season, Mont Alto has had better results nationally than they have in the PSUAC.

This season the team has proven that to be a thign of the past as well.  They look to continue on their winning ways through the conference tournament, and to keep it rolling all the way back in to the National Championship game.

Not only was todays win over York special in that Mont Alto clinched the regular season PSUAC Championship, but also that an integral part of the Mont Alto family played his final regular season game ever in a Mont Alto uniform.  Corey Meyers has been the poster child of Mont Alto basketball since he stepped foot on campus 4 years ago.  His most memorable incident however, and luckily for Mont Alto basketball was the 2014-15 USCAA National Championship Tournament.  Meyers put the team on his back, scoring an average of 17 points per game for four straight games as he led them into Mont Alto's first even National Championship Game appearance in school history.

Although the outcome last year was not what Meyers had in mind, he knows that this is a new year, and this years team is doing all the right things to get themselves back to the same pllace as last year.

Today's 69-55 win over last years Conference Champions in Penn State York was just a step in the path that Meyers wants to lead his team to this year.

The next step will take place next Saturday when Meyers and Mont Alto will host a conference playoff game to see who will make it to the PSUAC Conference Tournament Championsip game.
