Mont Alto loses to top-ranked Penn State York 61-49

A low scoring second half doomed Mont Alto against top-ranked Penn State York, as Penn State Mont Alto lost to Penn State York 61-49 on Friday evening. Caleb Eckert was the leading scorer for Mont Alto, recording 15 points and gathering three steals. Penn State York was paced by a balanced effort with 14 points each from Darrell Jenkins and Deriq Brown.

 

Mont Alto raced out to a 22-11 lead with six minutes remaining in the first half. Penn State York went on a 13-2 run in the remaining minutes of the half to tie the score at 24-24. Penn State York received scoring from seven different players in the first half including six points from Marquise McClean in nine minutes of action. Nathan Osei led Mont Alto with seven points while Cameron Williams and Dariel Rivera each chipped in five. 

 

In the second half, Williams made a free throw to give Mont Alto a 31-30 lead. Penn State York would lead the rest of the way behind 12 points from Deriq Brown and ten from Darrell Jenkins. Eckert scored a team-leading ten points in the second half for Mont Alto.
