Nittany Lions extend win streak to four

Penn State Mont Alto 62, Penn State Beaver 51

 

Caleb Eckert scored a team-high 21 points, Nathan Osei added 13 while Anthony Davis scored 11 off the bench in 20 minutes as Penn State Mont Alto extended their win streak to four games, defeating Penn State Beaver 62-51 on Saturday afternoon. 

 

Penn State Beaver scored the first five points of the game, and Mont Alto responded with a three from Nathan Osei and a basket from Caleb Eckert to quickly tie the contest. Mont Alto expanded the lead to ten points at the halfway mark of the first half. A Dariel Rivera layup pushed the Mont Alto lead to 33-16 with 3:38 left before Penn State Beaver went on a mini run to trim the deficit to 12. Mont Alto led by 12 at the half with the score 35-23.

 

Devon Johnson converted a three point basket early in the second half, trimming the lead to 46-40 with 11:03 remaining. That would be the closest Penn State Beaver would get as Penn State Mont Alto followed a Penn State Beaver timeout with an 11-0 run behind six points from Davis. 

 

Penn State Beaver outscored Penn State Mont Alto 28-27 in the second half, but the big first half was the difference as Mont Alto defeated Beaver 62-51.
