
Penn State Mont Alto 97, Central Penn 54
Penn State Mont Alto hosted Central Penn in USCAA non-conference action on Monday night. Some sharp shooting from the field proved to be the difference maker for Mont Alto as the men's team started the new year off with a 97-54 victory over the Knights.
How It Happened
First Half
19:32 - Central Penn's Quadere Allen opened the game's scoring with a layup early in the first half off a steal from teammate Kaeden Campell.
17:08 - The teams went bucket for bucket until a three-pointer from Mont Alto's Cameron Williams started a 6-0 run to extend their lead 12-6.
00:59 - That would be the largest lead held by either team until late in the first half when Mont Alto's Caleb Eckert laid a ball in to stretch the gap to eight with a minute left in the first half.
00:32 - Nathan Osei followed suit adding a free throw to give the Lions their largest lead of the game with 30 seconds left.
00:24 – A quick jumper from Central Penn's Donnell Loud brought the Knights within 7 and the score ended 38-31 at halftime with Mont Alto having the advantage.
Second Half
19:07 - Quadere Allen again opened the scoring out of halftime with a big three-pointer to cut the lead to four points.
18:23 – Rodney Ross followed closely with a layup to bring the Knights within two for the first time since midway through the first half as the score.
Penn State Mont Alto went on a tear in the next eight minutes, outscoring the Knights 24-5 until a layup from the Knight's Rodney Ross broke a four-minute scoring drought to make the score 65-43.
Mont Alto kept the pressure on as their lead never diminished to less than 20 points.
04:38 – After a pair of free throws from Kaeden Campell, the Lions finished strong. They closed the last five minutes of the game on another impressive 19-3 scoring run, ending the game with a victory 97-54.
The scoring was spread around as five different players from the Lions contributed to their scoring to close out the game.
