Tom Shearer All-PSUAC; Mont Alto Golf Finishes 10th at USCAA/PSUAC Championship

State College, Pa. – Defending PSUAC Champions, Penn State Mont Alto golf finished their final round of the PSUAC/USCAA Championships on Tuesday and finished 10th as a team with two-round total of 653.  The Lions finished third amongst PSUAC schools and sophomore Tom Shearer (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) earned All-PSUAC distinction with a 16th-place overall finish.

Shearer who carded a 78 in yesterday's first round followed it up with a team-best 76, which totaled a two-round total of 154 strokes.  The score also tied him for fifth amongst PSUAC golfers.

Senior Owen Groft  (Hanover, Pa. / New Oxford) tied for 36th overall with a two-round total of 158. Robert Sirk  (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) was the next best finisher for the Lions carding a round two of 82 strokes, which totaled 168 for the USCAA/PSUAC Championship.

Senior Dayne Conner (Shippensburg, Pa. / Big Spring) earned USCAA All-Academic honors after maintaining a 4.0 GPA to date. Conner who majors in Information Technology carded a season-best round score of 84, which totaled 158 strokes for the tournament

Penn State DuBois was crowned PSUAC Champions after winning an 18th hole tiebreaker over PSU Lehigh Valley.  SUNY Delhi was crowned USCAA National Champions with a 28-over par team score of 604 strokes.
