By: Frank Maira, Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director

MONT ALTO, Pa. – For the fourth time in his illustrious coach career Penn State Mont Alto's head golf coach Bill Burke was recently named Penn State University Athletic Conference Golf Coach of the Year. The 2020-21 season was Burke's 19th year at the helm of the Mont Alto golf program, and this is the first time he's been honored with this award since 2016.

The 2020-21 season saw the Nittany Lions play all four competitions during the spring due to COVID-19. The season began with Mont Alto hosting it's invitational at nearby Penn National Golf Course. Highlights included the second place team finish at Penn State New Kensington's Berie Gus Golf Classic as well as Daniel Harman (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) earning his first-ever PSUAC Golfer of the Week honors after carding a solid round of an 86 at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational.

Penn State Mont Alto will look forward to competing during the fall season once again. Competition dates will be announced on the Mont Alto athletics schedule page later this summer.
