Men's soccer falls to Lehigh Valley 3-1

Following a 1-1 first half tie, Lehigh Valley scored two second half goals as Mont Alto lost a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon by a final of 3-1.

 

Thomas Oberholzer found the back of the net first in the game on an assist from Viking Kowalczyk in the 20th minute. Following twenty minutes of scoreless play, Lehigh Valley's David Brownell scored an unassisted tally in the 39th minute to even the score at 1-1.

 

The second half remained scoreless as both teams had an intense defensive effort. Lehigh Valley would score the game winner and insurance goal within a seven minute span to pull ahead in the game. Jerod Younes scored twice in the 81st and 88th minute as Lehigh Valley took the pivotal contest by a final of 3-1.

 

Zach Stum stopped eight of his 11 shots faced in the losing effort and Lehigh Valley's keeper Michael Meyers Jr. stopped two of his three shot attempts faced.

 

Oberholzer paced the offense for Mont Alto with two shots on goal and Nicholas Silva recorded the other SOG for the Nittany Lions.
