Late goal forces tie game in non-conference action

Penn State Mont Alto 1, Carlow 1

Mont Alto scored late on a free kick to tie a non-conference matchup with Carlow for its first points of the season. Carlow got on the board first in the tenth minute when the Celtics had a corner kick. The cross went off the hands of Mont Alto keeper Kiaya Mouer and trickled out of the box. Carlow's Harley Vincler sent the ball on frame and scored.

The remainder of the first half went scoreless as Carlow outshot Mont Alto 4-3 to keep its 1-0 advantage into the half.

Both teams would exchange scoring chances in the second half, coming up short until the game's 87th minute.

Mont Alto's Grace Lochner had a free kick from about 20 yards out and she made the most of her opportunity, sending the ball high and past keeper Kylee Pry to tie the contest at 1-1.

The Mont Alto defense prevailed in the final minutes to keep the game tied as the non-conference tilt ended in a 1-1 tie.

Frances Fitzgerald and Grace Lochner each recorded shots on goal for Mont Alto and Kiaya Mouer recorded four saves on five shot attempts.
